GIRLS ONLY LEAGUE
Registrations for the 2022 winter season are open now.
Information about the registration process is below.
Season starts 8 May.
Season ends 11 September.
No games (school holidays) on 17 July.
Junior girls have several options for playing football:
Girls-only league: open to players from age 7 up and teams play on a Sunday morning (information on this page).
Mixed football: girls play in teams with boys and girls (information here).
Mixed and Girls only: girls can select both mixed and girls-only meaning they play both Saturday and Sunday.
The Girls Only League is open to all girls of all abilities aged 7 to 14 (born 2015 to 2008). Games are played on Sunday mornings. The focus of the league is on fun and participation - meaning that the league is suitable for girls first learning football right through to those who have good skills and have played a while.
Juniors Day: Saturday 26 March, Memorial Park, from 11am. Come along and ask your questions about the upcoming season, register, play some fun games of football, sausage sizzle/drinks, Football Central will be selling team gear and later the bar will be open for the Central League Men’s team game from 2.00pm (subject to COVID settings).
About the league
As noted above, the Girls Only League is open to all girls of all abilities aged 7 to 14 (born 2015 to 2008). Your child's 'grade' is based on their age - for example children who turn 9 in 2022 will be in grade 9.
The focus of the league is on fun and participation - meaning that the league is suitable for girls first learning football right through to those who have good skills and have played a while.
Teams play small-sided games on artificial turf (and so matches are rarely cancelled). Games are played on Sunday mornings.
The number of players allowed on the field at a time (including a goalkeeper) is as follows:
GOSL Grades 7-8: 5 players
GOSL Grades 9-10: 7 players
GOSL Grades 11-12: 9 players
GOSL Grades 13-14: 11 players
