Elected 2020
Tina Whalen has been a hard worker and really positive contributor in many areas of the Club.
At this stage we don’t know a great deal about her time as a player. We know she played 1 game for the Women’s first team in 2007 and another 5 in 2011. It’s quite likely that she played more than that but unfortunately there are no records available from 1999 to 2006.
We do know that she played many other games for other teams.
However there is a lot that we do definitely know about Tina. She was:
Manager of the Women’s first team in 2003
Manager of the Stewsmum social team for two years
A member of the Management Committee for four years (2001 to 2004)
Bar Manager for five years (2004 to 2008)
For many other years a bar volunteer, and still is
A member of the Women’s Committee for an unknown number of years
Also Chair of the Women’s Committee for an unknown number of years
The Club’s Funding Manager for three years (2001 to 2003)
Organiser of First Kicks for four years (2017 to 2020)
For many years a volunteer cleaning the Club lounge
Awarded Women’s Best & Fairest three times (2002, 2005, 2006)
Awarded Sportsperson of the Year twice (2003, 2018).
She also currently:
Manages our bar licencing applications and other dealings with HCC
is on the Junior Management Committee.
There are gaps in our records about Tina. But one thing is for certain — she is the sort of person that, given a task just gets on and does it, and she has done so over a long period of time. Tina is a very reliable and valuable member of the Club.
It is in recognition of her long period of involvement in the Club, and her very positive and significant contribution, that the club awarded Tina life membership at the 2020 AGM.

I was checking whether 24 out of 30 is considered a good score for an assessment. The explanation broke the result down clearly and showed how it fits into a standard grading system. I found it useful because it gave more context than just looking at the number. It made evaluating my result much easier.
I was researching a counting app for iphone because I wanted a convenient way to keep track of numbers while away from my desk. A digital tally tool can be useful for everything from exercise repetitions to event attendance. The information helped me understand the options available. It gave me a practical idea for replacing a physical counter with my phone.
I recently wondered, what's a half birthday and why people celebrate one. The explanation gave me a clear idea of how the date is determined and why it can be a fun occasion. I liked learning about the different ways people can mark the day. It's a simple concept but a nice excuse for an extra celebration.
I used an intermittent fasting calculator while planning a fasting schedule around my normal day. It helped me quickly see when my fasting period would begin and end. The straightforward format made the information easy to understand. Overall, it was a convenient way to organise my fasting timetable.
